New plein air paintings and upcoming events Posted: 30 May 2011 05:50 PM PDT New Events and Updates Richard Schmid LIVE Auction...I am pleased to have a piece in the upcoming Live Auction in Colorado on Labor Day.  Especially gradifying to know that Richard hand selected all of the participants.  Please check out http://www.richardschmidauction.com/ Recently juried into the Portland Art Museum Gallery.  The Rental Sales Gallery Summer Show will be from 5:00PM to 8 PM on June 17th.  View works by newly admitted artists and enjoy light refreshments.  1237 SW 10th Ave I hope that you can drop by.  For the month of June, I will have 9 small paintings at the US Bank on NE Weidler just North of the Lloyd Center.  For the months of May and June, Celeste Bergin and I have paintings at the Blue Kangaroo Coffee Roasters 7901 SE 13th Ave Portland, Oregon 97202. Tualatin Wildlife Refuge, a plein air painting "FOR THE BIRDS" below, will be on display for the month of June. Follow up to current EVENTS:

EVENT #1
The Matthew's Gallery compete ART 2011, Kickoff on 1/22 was well attended (over 300).  The competition and voting for works of over 75 artists will continue until February 16th.  The closing reception will be Saturday, February 19th 2-6pm....the public and all artists are invited.  Awards will be presented at 4pm, both public awards and critic's choices.
If you haven't been, I would recommend taking a look.  South on I-5, after passing under hwy 217, exit the freeway to the right on Upper Boones Ferry Rd exit 291.  Turn right (North) for about 100 yards and turn left at the first light.
